Farmyard noises penetrate your sleep.  Quickly you rise, wash and dress. Downstairs Mary, in the kitchen tells you to “Help yourself” to the breakfast items on the table.  No late breakfast today. We are coming together tonight for a ‘bring and share’ meal, to celebrate and to give thanks to God for His goodness and provision.  You saw yesterday the full barns of harvested grain, as they empty, they will be replenished by the crops already growing. Our seasons are short, and we have four harvests a year.”

“Ah here comes Jesse I suggested he and you could go to Carpenters to pick peaches for tonight’s feast.”  Pleased to oblige you agree.  “I’ll pack you a picnic of Miriam’s wonderful bread, several cheeses and you can eat as many peaches as you like.” She grins, you laugh!  It’s not just your thoughts, but your food tastes that are known.

Jesse tells Hewhay and Sausage to take you to Carpenters and with no further ado you are trotting side by side and today it’s Jesse asking you questions about life on earth.  You explain about accepting Jesus as the Holy Spirit into your life, and being baptised in water as Jesus was to identify with being born again.  Looking puzzled Jesse tells you, “My father and mother were very young when they made me, I wasn’t born, but aborted, is that the same as being adopted into God’s family?  At your hesitation, Jesse adds, “I, and other children, are told God made us.  Recently Havej told me that one day I will meet my parents.” You hum and inwardly, call on God.  A second later reprieve comes as you enter the copse visited nine years ago. You are pleased to divert his attention by exclaiming surprise at your arrival.

Read: “Jesus said, ‘Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’  John 3:5-8 (NIV)
