Today, we begin this journey together. Our hope is that you will enjoy every scene as we bring it to you. This adventure is timeless, you can begin, go back, move forward, Each time you re-read different aspects will emerge, The aim is to experience this in a place of rest and bring you a sense of wellbeing.
You awake as if from a dream. You are standing between tall, thin, tightly planted, trees, their branches entwining together forming a canopy over your head. At your feet is the forests ferny floor. A gentle breeze causes the trees’ leaves to rustle above your head, you look towards the sound. The light piercing the darkness is grey, heralding a new day dawning. The sound of bird song breaks the silence. As you listen it feels as if they are singing your song welcoming you to this world. That, which at first glance, seemed dark, dull and cold, begins to brighten as the sun rises. It pierces through the leaves to reveal patches of blue on green, and a variety of plants near you and small bushes in the undergrowth.
Look around, and ask which way to go. The question seems answered for it becomes obvious others have been here before you, they have trod a path through this wilderness. You decide to walk in their footsteps. The forest warms with the sun and your back pack containing the things you believe as the essentials of life is starting to weigh you down. Just when you have a need to sit you see across a patch of bluebells a huge oak tree and hung from a strong branch is a swing. You go to investigate it. The rope is thick and sturdy, the seat a comfortable chair, sculptured by an expert carpenter.
The Lord says, “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.” Matthew 11:28-30 (TPT)
