And so Series 2 comes to an end with ‘you’ safely returned to sit in your chair. A good time to pause and think of that (Selah). May the adventure of the last forty days and content of all you have imbibed in this story blog give you ‘food for thought’ and encourage you in this ever changing world.
Our hope is you have been inspired, as have we, to serve the Lord in greater measure. Whatever stage of belief, faith and trust you had, I pray you have received fresh insights. The aim of the steps to the castle was to reveal the Lord’s heart for us. Matthew (16:18) wrote we’d been given the keys to the Kingdom. In seeking the Lord for each episode and step He has been unlocking our understanding of who He is, and who He desires us to be in Him.
I asked the Lord ‘What next’? He revealed to me about the castle of our hearts and the steps we have taken to prepare for a greater revelation. With any building the deeper the foundations, the taller the building can be. Cast in concrete, the steps form part of that long before the walls and roof. With that analogy we need to dig deep, give no limit on the steps we use to build on, and expand our understanding, expectations and experiences. When we speak and live by the Lord’s Word, only the sky is our limit.
“But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.” 8 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel[c]—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.” Gen.11:5-9 (NIV)
Jesus’ life paved the way for us to be living stones built into a spiritual house, (1 Peter 2:5) the very Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. If we seek to have His heart, build our lives as His castle, we will continually know His Presence and function fully in Him.
To assist your Selah, we have put together the scriptures and the interactions we used. Also for ease the links to the YouTube clips which you may have enjoyed.
In these days the Holy Spirit is moving in ways He wasn’t even twenty years ago. Today we have a rising generation of young people loving the Lord and, in their enthusiasm, they are experiencing accelerated growth. A phrase I have heard and agree with, is, “my ceiling is now their floor.” It tells me Jesus is preparing His bride to make ready for His coming again.
